Officially there were 26 workers dead and 58 injured, but there are those who say it is more likely 80 men were killed. This catastrophe briefly caused worldwide outrage and discussion about worker safety on breaking yards like Gadani in Pakistan and Chittagong in Bangladesh. At the end of their life cycle they get sold to a paper company in a country with zero rules for their disposal, neatly beyond the responsibility of the companies that have built and exploited them.
